A Band, a Pastor, and a Teacher Walk Into a Bar

Like a lousy band who thinks they are too cool to quit.
Or a pastor who decides breasts are more holy than the Lord.
A divisive moment right before the storm.
Neglect of decision making that has most men looking like fools.

Waking up and taking a step
right next to a line that could be used to sever time.
A hurried expression
leading to a slothful misdirection.

An attempt to negate the proud and mystify the solid.
Trying our bests to trod on soft land
while building a foundation.
Accepting the closeness of friends
all the while distributing tracts to save those who don't want to be found.

Like a man who tries to save the unharmed.
Or a teacher who teaches the angles of a bed instead of a trapezoid.
Transfering the sounds of the lost and broken
for the sounds of participants who believe they have already been given their token.

Shifting the weight while shifting the blame.
Earning your stars by killing the lame.
Asking the questions that already have answers.
While we try to wake up from the nightmare
and attempt to realize we no longer need to dive in any deeper.
