Time to Go Home

It’s time to go home.
To find a family who’ve I’ve been missing dearly.
To see a new life.
To go home and say, “This is going to be a good day.”

But on the other hand I am leaving someone behind.
It’s only for a little while, but I’ve grown rather attached.
Cheers to the bittersweet.
Cheers to the good and the bad.

It’s time to go home.
To resurface and face demons.
To be comforted and overjoyed.
And through it all, to thank God.

I thank Him for the pain of missing a soul.
For He is the reason it all happened in the first place.
I thank Him for my family that has prayed and understood for years.
thank God for another day to live another day.

It’s time to go home.
For home is not your childhood house.
It is the love of those that are around you.
It is the knowledge that when you are together, love is all you know.

So cheers to the road.
Cheers to the ocean.
A cleansing fire that will burn away the feelings of missing them.
And cheers to those that we are leaving behind…
Even if just for a little while.
